Intelliview is ATOM's solution for materials digitising, automatic contour recognition and the marking of areas with differing quality.

All of these features operations are needed in the production process, in particularly when cutting materials with irregular contours, in non-rectangular shapes or when working with materials with defects and differing quality areas. It is of course possible to use "in-line" nesting, performed on the cutting table just before cutting but several factors must be taken into account to select the most efficient production in order to get maximum yield by using the operators' experience.

Precision, reliability, ease of use and integration with ATOM automatic cutting systems make Intelliview the perfect tool to complement a fully featured automatic cutting system.

By using Intelliview it is possible to separate the material acquisition, nesting and cutting phases, enabling more flexibility in the production planning stage.

The production process is divided into 3 main stages, which can be carried out in different places and it is possible to introduce a delay between each step if needed.

•  Material digitising and defects/quality areas marking : an operator can collect data from several material batches and this data is immediately made available to the automatic nesting system. Usually skilled operators are needed in this stage because quality marking is not a trivial task and several production-related variables must be properly weighted using operator experience. This separation of production steps allow the experienced operator's time to be allocated on this critical phase, without wasting time on more trivial, less skilled tasks.
Digitising involves automatic material contour recognition (performed by software, which analyses the digital image provided by the installed camera) and the defects and quality areas marking.
The marking is done by using a special optical mouse and working directly on the material which enables the operator to achieve maximum precision and efficiency. The user friendly software of the Intelliview guides the operator, providing clear menus projected on the material and activated via the optical mouse. This makes for fast, accurate and easy marking.
•  Automatic nesting : the advanced nesting software grants high yields and can meet complex user-defined production constraints. The nesting can be either "traditional", that is calculated on a PC installed at the customer's premises, or entirely web-based thanks to the remote nesting services provided by CUTWEB .
•  Automatic cutting : Orders requiring cutting can be pre-loaded onto the machines. The machine will use the layouts as calculated by the nesting software. All the operator needs to do is load the appropriate material when prompted and collect and sort the cut parts.
