Plating Machines – PL, PT & PLT
These small and compact machines are highly versatile, and have many applications including plating, printing, cutting and embossing. Many of these production types can even by used in any one cycle to complete multiple material manipulation.
The most common use for this machine is for the heated embossing and punching of small leather items, including handbags, wallets and general logo and pattern embossing.
These machines also have a considerable presence where small items requiring high tonnage are being cut.
The Atom range of plating machines can be sub-divided into three categories:
- PL Series
Built with a heated platen this series is ideal for logo embossing and printing, with cutting power ranging from 10 - 180ton, and cutting areas 300x150mm to 750x600mm - PT Series
Ideally suited for high tonnage cutting and embossing, this series is equipped with a mechanical to control the depth of the piston stroke. With a cutting power of 120ton and cutting areas from 600x500mm to 750x600mm, this series is ideal for leather and synthetic materials - PLT Series
A product of two very successful series of the plating machine e.g. PL & PT, the PLT combines the best that these two versions have to offer. Including an accurate mechanical stop, a heated platen, a cutting area of 600x500mm and 120tons of cutting power
Some models can be equipped with a roll feeding device, to incrementally feed in coloured tape for heated embossing and printing. Atom can produce many of the series specific to customer requirements, for example on the PL series, a set of controlled feed rollers can be fitted, to allow the manual and automatic incremental feeding and rewinding of material from a roll up to 650mm in width. Thus allowing automatic cycling.
All automatic series of the Atom plating machine are supplied with a CE Mark of conformity, and manual version with CE rules compliant.

PL Series Plating Machine
With power ranging from 10 to 180tons the PL series is ideal for cutting and printing requirements.
Available with a heated thermal plate for cutting and embossing operations.
This series is available with both manual and automatic tray movement, with controlled tray movement the production cycle is made easier for the operator, meaning more efficient production and less fatigue. The tray movement speed is fully adjustable.
The operation is simple yet highly productive, cycling in the following steps:
- Tray In
- Pressing (cut and/ or dwell)
- Heating
- Tray Out
The machine can either be used in cycle for cutting or embossing / printing. The following are available as specification options:
- Die plate rail fitted to the head, this is to support the die in a fixed position. This is ideal for repeating production operations
- Thermal plate
- Feed rollers, for incremental movement of coloured tape into the pressing area for printing and embossing
- Incremental material feed rollers up to 650mm wide, ideal for continuous kiss cutting from a roll, feed in and out

The PL Series is available with CE rules compliant certificate. Automated versions are available with CE Mark of Conformity.
PT Series Plating Machine
This series is equipped with the mechanical stop to control the depth of the piston stroke, offering extreme accuracy when setting the cutting depth.
