The main feature of a beam press is the mobile beam which is capable of exerting pressure over the entire width of the material. When compared with trolley and swing arm presses they have a quicker cutting cycle since there is no need to move the beam along the machine width. Another advantage is the coincidence between cutting surface and beam, so that it is possible to use huge dies, in theory as big as the cutting surface.

For these reasons they are widely used when high cutting power and/or huge dies are required. They can handle both single and multiple shape dies, their power enabling them to cut even multiple parts requiring high cutting power, at the same time.

The line-up includes models with power from 20 to 150 tons, with different feeding systems optimised for several different jobs. All ATOM beam presses however share some common features:

•  Unique design, with a single central piston . The single piston solves a number of problems associated with multiple piston technology; in fact our machines give perfect parallelism between the cutting surface and the beam and excellent uniformity in the distribution of the cutting power. These features lead to greater cutting quality and precision.
•  different stop systems providing high penetration precision for a variety of different jobs.
•  Automatic pressure setting : when changing die height no manual settings are required.
•  Electric stop sensor : allows the usage of small dies on high power machines, this system does not need any setting of cutting power to match different die blade development.
•  Mechanical stops with micrometric adjustment : available for models with power beyond 50 tons, they offer perfect control over blade penetration.
